impressions on Cells

My first impression - the cells are *beautiful* - the pure poetry of seeing beyond what we can see with our naked eyes, and peering into the scientific modeling of the fabric of our physical existence, is pure poetics. The way my son, when he was three, looked at a city or an airplane without any weight about the environmental or social impact and complexity of these things' existence - just the sheer wonder of the natural world.

They also look like cities to me, and entire worlds of themselves. They invoke ideas about the macrocosm and the microcosm being mirrors of one another. The are brothers and sisters - these cells - at once so alike, and each very different, with their own gifts and path.
